Common questions
How do I install Credit Control?
Install from the Shopify App Store, then open the app from your Shopify admin. On first launch you can import your existing B2B companies in one click and set a default credit limit (or per-company limits). Enforcement at checkout switches on as soon as your limits are saved — no theme edits or code required.
How do I set or change a company's credit limit?
Open the app and go to a company's page to set its credit limit, or use Settings to apply a single default limit across all companies. Changes take effect immediately — the next checkout for that company is evaluated against the new limit.
Why was a customer's order blocked?
Credit Control blocks a checkout for one of three reasons: the order would put the company over its credit limit, the company has overdue invoices, or the account has been placed on hold. The buyer sees a clear message at checkout, and you can see the exact reason on the company's page in the app. Adjust the limit, clear the overdue balance, or lift the hold to let them order again.
How do I mark an invoice as paid?
Payments recorded against an order in Shopify flow through automatically and reduce the company's outstanding balance. You can also mark invoices settled from the company's statement / AR view in the app, which recalculates available credit right away.
What are the rep / draft order flags?
Draft orders and rep-placed orders skip Shopify's native checkout, so they can bypass credit rules. Credit Control flags these orders for your review the moment they're created, so an over-limit or on-hold account can't be pushed through the back door without you knowing.
How do I uninstall, and what happens to my data?
Uninstall Credit Control from your Shopify admin's Apps section. Uninstalling cancels billing immediately and triggers deletion of the store data we hold, in line with Shopify's mandatory app/uninstalled and shop/redact webhooks. See our Privacy Policy for details.
